Is it still worth buying from Europe?

Yes - however, the savings have been reduced and you have to be more circumspect when choosing a model - see tips. The European optional equipment prices are still much lower - sometimes less than half price - than in the UK. Please ask our sales advisers for a recommended model in your price range.

Is this a good time to buy?

You can still save up to 15% on the UK list price now. If sterling weakens - or inflation in 'Euroland' keeps on rising - you may well not be able to do so in the future. This is an opportunity for UK customers to pay less than the UK forecourt price.

Volkswagen have adjusted their UK prices and you are advised to enquire for models with reasonable savings. It is probably no longer worthwhile to purchase the smaller vehicles from the continent.

How safe is my money?

Most of our customers pay their deposits directly to the continental suppliers. Many dealerships are larger - sometimes much larger - than UK franchises. Customer protection is similar on the continent. You can also pay your deposit to us. We are happy to provide references from existing customers. You can also pay your deposit by credit card (there may be an additional handling charge) for additional protection.

Will my car be supplied full UK specification?

Yes - unless otherwise stated. The warranty period is always restricted to 24 months unlimited mileage. Also manufacturers handle the model changes - usually in September - differently and discrepancies may arise from this.

Will it be delivered to my home?

Yes - If that is what you want. You can either collect it from the continent, the port of arrival or have it delivered to a suitable address nominated by you for reasons of accessibility. You will receive a discount if you collect from the continent or the port of entry.

Would you take my current car in part exchange?

We can 'underwrite' your car. This is to say we arrange a future price for your car with a dealer. You are likely to achieve a higher price via a private sale. Remember that you will have 3 - 4 months to sell your car.

Is the quoted price guaranteed?

No. The main variable is the exchange rate. However, we could 'fix' the exchange rate if requested. The exchange rate decision is the customer's responsibility. There are various ways in which one can reduce or eliminate the effect of exchange rate fluctuations. We are happy to advise on these.

How about finance?

You can either arrange finance through the normal channels or we can put you in touch with specialist brokers.

Can I change the specification after I have ordered?

Yes, apart from the essentials (eg. model, engine). You can usually make changes until about 8 weeks before production.
